This rare perennial, halophile species grows only in Dobrogea, on fluviatile or maritime sand banks of the Danube and the Black Sea.

Leaves grow after anthesis.

Leaves five-angular, hastate, with cordate base, each lobe having 2 or 3 lobes. Leaf width > length. Margins serrated. Back of leaves whitish, tomentose.

Leaves with long, arachnoid haired petioles.
