This xerophile species grows mainly in Transilvania and Dobrogea, but has been also reported (see FMR) from Maramureș, Oltenia, and Muntenia. Other than that, it appears to grow in a very few places in Moldova, and nowhere in Banat, which is arguably odd.

Shrub with suberect branches, up to 1.5 m high. Leaves lanceolate to oblong-elliptical, serrate. Flowers solitary, pink. Fruit subglobose, villous, with yellowish hairs.
Serrate leaves, w/ limbs gradually decurrent into their petioles.
